Description of Volunteer Duties

  • Field Lining – Line fields with paint using equipment provided by club. Time Commitment – Minimal, but weekly.
  • Fields Layout – Assist in laying out fields (measuring, marking, lining, goal set up). Time Commitment – Minimal; a few hours – done once, at start of season.
  • Concession Stand Managers – Persons signing up for this position oversee one of our two concessions stands. Purchases the food & drinks that are sold in the stand; opens the stand on game day; Schedules parents to take turns volunteering during one of their home games; turns deposits over to Treasurer. Time Commitment – Significant – each week before & after games.
  • Concessions Stand Assistants – Persons signing up for this position will assist Concessions Stand Manager in the visits to store, restocking, opening, clean-up, etc. Time Commitment – Moderate to Significant.
  • Picture Scheduling Chair – Organize/coordinate with photographer to schedule teams for photographs, set up photo schedule; coordinate distribution of photos to Coaches/Team Parents. Time Commitment – Moderate.
  • Registration Assistant – Assist Board members to complete registration forms at open registration events, assist prepare for registration – assemble mailings, distribute flyers in schools, etc. Time Commitment – Minimal.
  • Team Parent (1 per team) – Can coordinate snacks, communicate information from coach to parents, team phone calls, assist with other administrative duties so coach can dedicate time to coaching! Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is highly recommended. Time Commitment – Minimal to Moderate.
  • Referee Assignor – Identifies referees & their availability for dates during the season. Once schedules are released from WVYSA, and from our U6 program, schedule those referees to each game based on their availability. Provide copies of the schedule to Treasurer & other board members. Time Commitment – Moderate.
  • U6 Coordinator – Divides U6 players into teams; Lines up Coaches for each team; Schedules U6 games; Serves as Liaison when issues arise. Time Commitment – Moderate to Significant.
  • President – Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is necessary. Time Commitment – Significant.
  • Vice President – Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is necessary. Time Commitment – Significant.
  • Treasurer – Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is necessary. Time Commitment – Significant.
  • Secretary – Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is necessary. Time Commitment – Significant.
  • Club Rep – Attends monthly league meeting representing West Side United SC. Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is highly recommended. Time Commitment – Minimal to Moderate.
  • Alternate Club Rep – Attends monthly league meeting representing West Side United SC in the event the Club Rep cannot attend. Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is highly recommended. Time Commitment – Minimal.
  • End of Season Events Coordinators – Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is highly recommended. Time Commitment – Significant.
  • Web Master – Attending monthly Parents/Coaches meeting is highly recommended. Time Commitment – Moderate to Significant.
